Rapper-turned-mogul says Mr. Britney Spears is "fire," says he expects to get in the studio soon to record posse cut with himself, K-Fed, and Nas.
To hear Jay-Z tell it, "PopoZao" sealed the deal. K-Fed is FIRE
K-Fed is FIRE
The rapper-turned-president of Def Jam Record inked dancer-turned-rapper Kevin Federline to a five-album record deal today, saying the husband of Britney Spears could challenge hip-hop's greatest lyricists.
"What can I say, that "PopoZao" track is just FIRE," Hova said. "I knew I had to sign K-Fed the minute I heard that 'Brazilian a**-shaker.'" Federline took the signing in stride, saying that it was about time his bona fide street cred landed him on hip-hop's most recognized label.
"My sh** is fire, yo," he said. "I can't wait to get in the studio and bust rhymes with some of the greats in the game."
He might get his chance soon, as Jay-Z said he expects to record a posse cut with K-Fed, himself, and Nas, the veteran Queens rapper with whom he quelled a longtime beef by inking him to Def Jam.
"This is a new paradigm for hip-hop," he said.

K-Fed is indeed readying a solo rap album, but he is putting it out himself and with no major label backing. In fact, Federline released a statement Thursday, saying that his album, Playing With Fire, is expected to hit stores in August.
"I'm excited about this album and am looking forward to continuing my promotional club tour in support of it and seeing the firsthand reaction of my fans listening to my songs for the first time," he said. "My album is sure to set the dance floors across the world on fire!"
Federline won't actually be performing on the tour, but simply playing the songs off his album and witnessing the reaction.
K-Fed released "PopoZao" earlier this year on Yahoo! Music Unlimited.
Federline and Spears have a son, Sean Preston, who was born last September.
