Juelz Santana Makes Cream Uptown, Papoose Issues a Threat
Source: sohh

It was announced yesterday that Juelz Santana will partner with H3Enterpises in their bid to bring a HipHopSodaShop to Harlem's 125th street. The themed eatery will be the first in a series of restaraunts that, according to the website, will feature a healthy quick service menu, plasma screens and a large area dedicated to "cybersports".

Personally, I feel like targeted businesses such as this have huge potential, however I have to wonder if Harlem residents are ready to line up for something called the M.C. HammaJamma! On the other hand, with his boss and the president of his label on the brink of one of the most public rap battles in years, it may not be such a bad idea for the Dips lyrical crack dealer to explore alternative financial opportunties!

New York's undisputed mixtape champ, Papoose, continues his relentless assault on the streets with the release of his latest mixtape, A Threat and A Promise. Never one to dissapoint, Pap seems to be sticking with his mini-album formula, and has enlisted the help of prominent beat masters such as Just Blaze, Scram Jones, and Havoc of Mobb Deep. From what I've heard already, the Busta Rhymes collabo "Address Me as Mister" and the Swizz Beatz and Nas laced "Across the Tracks", The Lyrical One has once again cooked up something special for the starving NY mixtape faithful.

Although Pap's mixtape buzz in NY has been called the biggest since 50 Cent's pre-Shady/Aftermath run, it seems like everybody is not as eager to hear The Nacirema Dream as the rest of us. After a disagreement over an unauthorized Mense/Papoose mixtape caused D.J. Wats to be booted from The Streetsweepers D.J. collective, the little know Brooklyn M.C. responded with a dis track aimed squarely at Pap and Kay Slay.

Just days later Mense found himself on the wrong end of a can of whoop-ass up in the Bronx, and then proceeded to post a video on his website (that has since been taken down) commenting on his assailants: "I don't have to speak on who sent them because everyone already knows." One of two things could have happened here, Mense actually did get beat up over the track, or this is a publicity stunt gone horribly wrong. Well, I was curious so I sampled the Mense mixtape, and let's just say that whatever happened, I don't think we'll be hearing much more from him anytime soon.
