At last count, Jay-Z was worth $320 million, working as the president and CEO of Def Jam Recordings and enjoying the ever-lovin' embrace of girlfriend Beyonce Knowles.
He's on top of the world, or is he?
We checked with color analyst Diantha Harris of ChicagoHealers.com, author of Simply ... Color, which is available at www.lifepnet.com.
We wondered: Was Jay-Z's white 'n' lemon ensemble a sign of confidence? Or a cry for help?
"It is an interesting combination, especially for a male," Harris says. Yellow is the color of the ego and the color associated with clarity. "If yellow is lacking in our aura and energy body, then ego is out of balance, and clarity becomes confusion. Could he have chosen yellow because he is not sure of who he is? Or maybe he is confused about his life?"
The opposite could be true, though, Harris says. With all he has accomplished, he may be quite sure of who he is. "Perhaps his message is 'I know who I am and I am very cool!' " she says.
And what of the white? "The white could say he does not want to reveal much or that he has nothing to hide," Harris says.
"The combination of these two colors leads me to guess that Jay-Z might have some confusion around either who he is or what he wants. That could lead to difficulty with making commitments, or even in making decisions."
White can be a clean slate. Yellow can be the fear of being seen, known or having someone get too close. "It is possible he is saying to us that we better keep our distance because he is not going to reveal much to us about who he really is," Harris says. "And that could be because he doesn't know himself well enough to reveal to us those things."
Even with seemingly everything going his way, Jay-Z may not be secure. Without much of an ego, he may be wanting to appear as if he is all ego.
"He may have chosen the yellow to help with this situation, which is a wise thing to do," Harris says.
