DALLAS PAGE TALKS ABOUT HIS LAWSUIT AGAINST JAY-Z
Source:

DDP then touched base on the current controversy with rapper Jay-Z & the ongoing details of his lawsuit against him. He said that he didn't really want to sue Jay-Z at first -- for the respect that he has for the guy & his career. He said that the negotiations between attorneys started in July, and they couldn't come up with an agreement, which then led to the lawsuit. DDP then named a few guys in the past that have done the symbol, including the first person to use it as an endzone dance, Herschel Walker -- which is told in Page's prior book, "Positively Page," around page 355, where Herschel says "he was never a big fan of dancing, but he had just ran 64 yards to the endzone and was a big fan of DDP's." Page then went on to say that several years ago, he was at a basketball game 20 rows up from the court, when Karl Malone saw him and gave him The Diamond Cutter sign as well. Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker, Derek Brooks, has also become a great friend of his -- going so far to do The Diamond Cutter sign on the field of Raymond James Stadium after a big play.

All of those guys were fans of his at first, and that's what he thought of Jay Z at first as well -- because at the time he had never listened to him, but he does now, and says he "really likes his stuff." He said he found out about Jay-Z using the symbol when basketball phenom, LeBron James, started doing it, not for DDP, but for the rapper himself. DDP then said that Jay-Z was interviewed during halftime at an NBA game, and was asked why LeBron does it, and said something along the lines of "That's my sign." Page then stated that other than maybe a handful of guys in the WWE, very few professional wrestlers do not own their name. He has spent thousands of dollars to trademark that hand gesture. DDP then again said that he wanted to work things out with Jay Z, but couldn't because of his lawyer -- which he had "no comment" on. Page also mentioned how he has every wrestling tape that he's been in (from WCW to the WWE), and it's shown that he has built it up since his start in World Championship Wrestling.
