Source:sohh
Jay-Z and a host of other celebrity investors recently celebrated the launch of cosmetic/beauty line Carol's Daughter's flagship store, while the god emcee is considering buying a large stake in the London Arsenal soccer team.
Hov was joined by four of the boutique's main investors, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, music executives Steve Stoute and Tommy Mottola, singer Thalia and founder Lisa Price recently for the grand opening of the flagship Carol's Daughter store in Harlem. Earlier this summer, President Carter teamed up with the aforementioned investors in addition to Will Smith and Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine to gather $10 million to fund Carol's Daughter Cosmetics.
Beyonce, Def Jam executive Tracey Waples, Essence Magazine's Mikki Taylor and others stopped by to help celebrate the grand opening. The launch took place Thursday (October 6) and the store opened for business on Saturday (October 8).
In related news, Hov is looking to invest in the London soccer team, Arsenal. According to The Sunday Mirror, Jay-Z has been negotiating with the team's heads about purchasing a big stake in the football squad, also known as the Gunners. Word is Hov first tried to talk with the owner of the Chelsea football club, the defending champions, but was rejected. The Sunday Mirror says Hov then turned to the Arsenal because he feels its star, Thierry Henry, is "cool."
SOHH.com sources close to the deal say the negotiations are almost final and the deal is "practically done."
