Jay-Z Calls Peace With Nas: Winners and Losers
Source: sohh
Hip-Hop rejoiced over the appearance of Jay-Z and Nas in concert last week. Some artists are happy about this, others aren't so. Let's break down the winners and losers:
Winner: Nas & Jay-Z (of course). Both come out looking like mature chairmen of the culture and music.
Loser: Snoop Dogg. He had his own Westcoast peace conference this year, which ended cross-feuds between a dozen rap factions. It barely got mentioned in the press, and definately won't be remebered now that Jigga has soaked up all the attention. Not to Snoop- nobody cares about peace announcments unless your snappin' and tappin' when it happens.
Winner: Young Jeezy. To even be on stage amongst those living legends must have upped your's boy's swagger by ten.
Loser: Juelz Santana. He wasn't at the concert, and his boss Jay-Z didn't even mention his upcoming album. He has the same potential as a Jeezy, but won't get the same push from Def Jam.
Winner: Beanie Sigel. He now gets to roll with Jay without disrespecting Dame or being seen as disloyal by fans.
Loser: Kanye West. Word is, his performance of Gold Digger got a sleepy reception from the crowd. Goes to show, 'Ye can shine on his own, but not next to real icons like Nas.
Winner: Ja-Rule. all of a sudden Ja can have all the cool kids help him stomp out the school bully.
Loser: Ludacris. In one night Def Jam all of sudden got more crowded. I doubt a platinum artist like Luda will be happy having to compete for attention and budget with the The Lox and Nas.
