R KELLY HEADS TO NEW YORK FOR JAY-Z BATTLE

R+B star R KELLY is heading to New York City to work on his lawsuit against JAY-Z, after asking a judge for permission to leave his hometown of Chicago.
The IGNITION singer, whose travels have been limited due to his slow-moving child pornography charges, visited a court on Friday (02SEP05) to seek permission for the trip.
Kelly filed the lawsuit against the rap mogul in November last year (04) after being dumped from their Best of Both Worlds joint tour.
Against the prosecution's objections, the judge granted Kelly permission to go to the Big Apple between 11 and 16 September (05) so that he can give a deposition in that case, according to MTV News.
