WTH? Mickey D's Getting Flava?

Source:sohh

As head of McDonald's latest campaign, Hip-Hop mogul Steve Stoute is set to recruit urban clothing lines to help redesign the fast food giant's uniforms.

Earlier this year, Micky D's hired rappers to attend events, offered money to artists to use the term "Big Mac" in their lyrics and have used rap songs in their commercials. Now in hopes of making their brand more appealing, Micky D's has hired Hip-Hop impresario Steve Stoute. Stoute runs Translation Consulting and Brand Imaging and will arrange a fashion makeover for the food chain. Sources say Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' Sean John, Jay-Z and Damon Dash's Rocawear, Russell Simmons' Phat Farm, and Tommy Hilfiger are being considered to give the uniforms a more urban look.

"We believe that restaurant employees are brand ambassadors and this is a great opportunity to have crew uniforms which are reflective of that," said McDonald's spokesman Bill Whitman. "This would create designs that they'll be proud to wear not only in the restaurant, but outside, as well."

Stoute brings his successful branding history to the Micky D's project. To date, the mogul has paired Justin Timberlake with McDonald's, Jay-Z and Reebok, and Beyonce Knowles with Hilfiger.

"McDonald's has evolved and become a lifestyle brand. Since it now is relevant to our lifestyle, let's go one step further and make its employees relevant to our lifestyle as well," Stoute stated.
