Another Internship Offered by Jay-Z

Jay-Z is teaming with Reebok and the S. Carter Academy to offer an internship position at Def Jam Records.
The Def Jam internship will allow one luck applicant to experience working in the music industry. During eight weeks, the intern will work at Def Jam's New York City office and get to learn the ropes of the music business. Hopefuls can apply for the Def Jam internship by logging onto www.scratchacademy.com. The applicants must also submit a resume and an essay on their personal career goals in relation to music. Aspiring interns have until August 16, 2005 to apply for the position.
The applicants will also get the chance to participate in the S. Carter Academy Remix Challenge. The challenge is an online competition in which applicants with musical aspirations will get to download acappellas of Jay-Z, Memphis Bleek or Young Gunz and remix the songs with their own beat. Each track will be judged by a panel. Applicants have until July 5, 2005 to submit beats to the S. Carter Academy Remix Challenge. The winner will receive a one year supply of S. Carter/Reebok footwear including the S. Carter Tennis II and S. Carter III.
Meanwhile, the S. Carter Tennis II is set to hit stores June 14th and will be available in white/navy for a retail price of $75. Afterwards, the S. Carter III will hit stores June 28th. The sneaker will be available in white/green/red and runs $120.
Just last month, the S. Carter Academy offered a college internship with the New Jersey Nets. The Def Jam position is the second of three internships to be offered by the S. Carter Academy.
