My Leaked Young Gunz Review

Source:

The Young Gunz are slated to release their Sophmore release May 24th but that isn't stopping the internet from leaking their work to the internet. I make it a policy that I'll download a cd before it comes out,but I make sure that if I really like it I buy it, that's just me. You could go through my hard drive and see for every album I have downloaded I've bought. After I buy them I delete them, and plan to do so with the new Young Gunz album. First off the leaked version on the internet is edited, is annoyning because you know your missing stuff but it helps you pay more attention to the flow. On first listen my favorite song production and lyrical wise is the track named, 'Same Sh**, Different Day'. The rest of the album runs from the radio friendly to the normal YG's bravado. The YG's of course try to recapture the magic of 'Can't Stop' but this time a more 'urban' sound comes out on 'Don't Stop(yg's party). Unlike 'Can't Stop' I like the beat to 'Don't Stop' on first listen. The Young Gunz should be very happy to have two songs from Swizz beats that aren't as annoyning as 'Like That'. The album boasts a few cameo's from Kanye West and John Legend on the widley downloaded song that came around after the first album('Grown Man pt.2), Memphis Bleek on a song that is defintley not up to the cameo they made on Bleek's album('We're Still Here'), and Pooda Brown who sounds so much like Neef on two songs it's scary(The Life, The way it goes). The people who aren't on the cd range from Shocking to not so shocking. There is no Peedi Crakk, Freeway, O or Sparks, Beanie Sigel, or Jay-Z to be found here. Not even the obligatory ROC mass record, which I always enjoy. With Jay-Z making appearances on Bleek's album, and reportedly blessing 3 songs for Foxxy, his abscense is a little bit distracting from the album. I'm still having a problem with the number of tracks so far, 12. Now Tough Luv had 15 tracks with 2 bonus tracks, hopefully upon release they'll add a couple extra's. The cd though, is very similar to Tough Luv, which I really liked alot. The difference is that you can hear the growth and potential the Young Gunz still trying to harness. Hopefully the rest of the world will see the potential that Roc-a-fella and I see in them.

Final Review: COP THAT.
