Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, his protégé John Legend and R&B singer Ciara
lead nominations for the 2005 annual BET Awards airing June 28th.

Ciara topped all nominees with four nominations. Meanwhile, John
Legend followed with three nods, including Video of the Year for the
Kanye West-directed "Ordinary People." Kanye was also nominated in
the same category for his "Jesus Walks" video. West picked up two
more nods for Best Male Hip-Hop and Best Gospel Artist. Also, Snoop
Dogg locked in three nods as Best Male Hip-Hop, Best Collaboration,
and Video of the Year for "Drop It Like It's Hot."

50 Cent received two nods for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and Best
Collaboration for his appearance on The Game's "Hate It Or Love It."
Terror Squad also collected two nominations for Best Group and
Viewer's Choice for "Lean Back." Jay-Z, T.I. and The Game also
received double nominations; while Ludacris, Mos Def, Lil Wayne,
Queen Latifah, Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz and The Roots all
recieved one nod.

Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett will host this year's event
which airs June 28th. Missy Elliot, Ludacris and Chuck Taylor are
scheduled to perform. Legendary singer Gladys Knight is also set to
receive a Lifetime Achievement Award while Denzel Washington and his
wife Pauletta will be rewarded for their work to improve medical
research and the treatment of children in the U.S. and Africa.

"Our Bet Awards show has been able to produce unique, unforgettable
moments every year and we don't expect 2005 to be any different,"
stated Debra Lee, BET President and Chief Operating
Officer. "There's something special about celebrating the success
and achievements of African Americans in such a glamorous and
exciting manner. We are very proud of the importance that our
viewers place on the BET Awards show and for the tremendous
viewership we continue to attract."
