BEANIE SIGEL BLASTS FROM BEHIND BARS: THE B. COMING SCORES TOP DEBUT ON ALBUM CHARTS WITH NEARLY 130,000 IN FIRST-WEEK SALES

#3 CHART DEBUT HIGHEST OF SIGEL'S CAREER WHILE FANS AND CRITICS RAVE

"The crucial street credibility that can make or break a hip-hop star didn't stop curbside for Sigel, his emcee skills and potent rhymes are undeniable, and he has spiced the proceedings with?enough rhythmic mayhem to keep the jailhouse rocking" - USA Today

"'The B. Coming' finds Beanie Sigel contemplative[Sigel] can be a riveting rapper, and 'The B. Coming' is full of shivery narratives. And luckily for his listener...the threat of prison didn't curb his fearsome style." - New York Times

"The bruising Philadelphia rapper?regains his focus and delivers a powerful, meditative collection that documents his tumultuous life. As a rapper, Sigel?earns points for his emotion and urgency? Sigel's no-nonsense look at the eternal struggle between right and wrong benefits from directness." - Los Angeles Times

NEW YORK, NY - April 6, 2005 - Beanie Sigel has made the album of his career, and thanks to an unorthodox marketing and promotion strategy spearheaded by friend and DDMG label-head Damon Dash and a highly-mobilized fan base, The B. Coming has become a huge, if unlikely, success story for the incarcerated rapper.

With nearly 130,000 copies sold, The B. Coming will debut at #4 on the Billboard 200 album chart, and will post the highest chart debut of the week, and the highest ever for Sigel; all this from an artist unable to promote his own project and a slow - but developing - reaction from radio.

"Beanie Sigel is one of the greatest rappers alive," said DDMG CEO Dash. "And I think his fans have come out to prove what I've been saying all along: that this man - as an artist, actor, and entrepreneur - is one of our greatest talents. I won't rest until the world knows it. This is only the beginning."

While Sigel currently serves a one-year sentence in federal prison, Dash has acted as Beans' stand-in on the promotional run for The B. Coming, including appearances on MTV's "Direct Effect," BET's "Rap City" and "106 & Park," along with countless photo shoots and interviews for high-profile outlets like The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times .

"This has been a particularly intense run of promotion and scrutiny for even me," said Dash. "But I'll continue to push. I made a promise to Beanie before he went away, and I intend to keep it."

He'll have to, as the publicity machine begins ramping up for the April 13th theatrical release of State Property II, and Dash will once again go to battle for Beans, the movie's star.

Stay tuned for more on the `Broad Street Bully,' Beanie Sigel
