Former Roc-A-Fella Execs Extend Label Deal With Atlantic
Source:SOHH
Former Roc-A-Fella Records executives, G. Roberson & Kyambo "Hip-Hop" Joshua, founders of Hip-Hop Since 1978 (HHS78), recently extended their label deal with Atlantic Records.
Creative duo, G. and Hip-Hop, protégés of Jay-Z, recently excelled to Senior Vice Presidents of Urban A&R at Atlantic. Jay-Z fans may recall Hip-Hop being shouted out on The Black Album as well cameos in Fade To Black.
First on the agenda for the new VPs is newcomer to Atlantic, Saigon. Signed under Just Blaze's Fort Knocks Entertainment, Saigon's debut album, The Greatest Story Never Told, ranks in the top 10 among XXL's ten most-anticipated albums of '05.
Under HHS78, G and Hip-Hop have also been working with Philadelphia's own 19-year old Shawn Mack. Among the roster at HHS78 are former Roc-A-Fella Records employees Al Branch, General Manager and Dara McIntosh, Director of Marketing.
HHS78 is the production/management company that birthed the talented Kanye West and is the production home of Just Blaze. HHS78's first project was Kanye's debut classic The College Dropout. The pair signed West to a production deal in 1998.
