Linkin Park Were Terrified Of Jay-Z

Source:TM

Rockers Linkin Park were terrified about working with Jay-Z on the single Numb/encore.

Linkin Park had previously admired the rapper from afar and were worried that meeting him would shatter their illusions.

Band member Mike Shinoda tells music website Allhiphop.com, "As far as working with someone for the first time: it can be a disaster, if the person you look forward to working with isn't what you thought they'd be. Many times, fans will meet their favourite artist and that person is just a jerk."

"I have been a fan of Jay's work from day one. One of my favourite songs is Brooklyn's Finest - I even quoted it on our song Nobody's Listening."

But the group were relieved to find Jay-Z approachable and friendly.

Shinoda adds, "Fortunately, Jay is the epitome of what most people hope their favourite artist is like: down to earth and easy to work with. Not to mention indescribably talented and completely at home in the studio."
