Jay-Z Nom

At a press conference in Los Angeles yesterday, BET announced their 4th Annual Award nominees with Outkast leading the pack followed by Lil Jon, Ludacris, Kanye West and Jay-Z.

Outkast is predictably at the top of the pile this year, obtaining six "Black Star Power" nods. The show will pit the two frontmen against one another in two categories -- "Best Video Of The Year" and "Viewer's Choice Award" for Andre 3000's "Hey Ya" and Big Boi's "The Way You Move." The duo has also been nominated for "Best Group" and "Best Collaboration" for the Sleepy Brown assisted "The Way You Move."

Ludacris and Lil Jon received three nods for their collaboration with Usher on "Yeah" while Jay-Z collected two for his cameo on Beyoncé's "Crazy In Love." Chingy, 50 Cent and Pharrell Williams also received nominations and Mos Def's acting skills were recognized for the second straight year in the "Best Actor" category.

Interestingly, Pharrell was nominated as "Best New Artist" alongside the true new kid on the block, Kanye West, while Jacki-O and Rah Digga were included in the "Best Female Hip-Hop Artist" category without having released a CD in the past year.

Danny Glover is set to receive this year's Humanitarian Award and The Isley Brothers will be celebrated with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Comedian Monique will resume as the show's host and this year's ceremony will be stretched to 3 hours.

The 4th Annual Bet Awards air on June 29th on BET live from the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.
