 Damon Dash and Roc-A-Fella Enterprises are already champions of the charts with their white hot Roc-A-Fella Records artists and now, Dash is gearing up to take the sports world by storm. Damon Dash announces an exclusive sponsorship agreement with the championship boxer Winky Wright and the Roc's State Property (SP) clothing line. Wright, who boxing bible Ring magazine classifies as the #2 ranked Jr. Middleweight Champion of the world, has just become #1, having won his fight against Shane Mosely March 13th in Las Vegas, for the undisputed Jr Middleweight Championship supremacy in what was a highly anticipated competition where Wright was considered the underdog. The Associated Press reported, "In the biggest fight of his career, the unheralded Wright consistently beat the speedy Mosley to the punch.Punch stats showed Wright landed 250 punches to 166 for Mosley."
"Boxing has always been a big love for me and the State Property brand is a great fit for it," emphasized Dash. "Hip-hop and boxing are natural allies, we have a lot in common and the State Property street credibility is in line with the grittiness of boxing. We're excited to be supporting Winky Wright. I love getting behind someone who might be an underdog but is great at what they do, and it's paid off. The Roc is jumping into sports full on and we intend to take it over."
Added Wright, "I fought for the championship and won. I deserved it. It's been a long time. Now, I'm the #1 Jr Middleweight rocking the #1 urban brand. It makes sense. I'm looking forward to working with Damon and the Roc/State Property family."
