Sin Control
It's been a while since we heard from Carl Thomas. The Bad Boy Records prince of R&B went AWOL after his multiplatinum bow "Emotional," but he's back with a bang on his sophomore effort, "Let's Talk About It," which is even better than the debut. Thomas incorporates an old-school tune with modern beats on his hit single "She Is," featuring LL Cool J.
His new work also shuns the tasteless modern hip-hop choruses but still manages to give off a sexy appeal to both grown-ups and impressionable young minds.
Apart from writing most of the songs, Thomas produced several songs, in addition to working with Just Blaze, P. Diddy and Mario Winans. P. Diddy's creativity and appeal to the old-school crowd and Winans' dexterity is apparent on "She Is," as they create a hit by applying the old tune from the 1987 track "Happy" by Surface.
The four-year wait was worth every second, thanks to great songs such as "Baby Maker," "A Promise" and "Make It Alright" -- all potent late-night aphrodisiacs.
