LIFEBEAT/ROC-A-FELLA RECORDS PRESS RELEASE

LIFEbeat: THE MUSIC INDUSTRY FIGHTS AIDS AND THE E.A.R.S. FOUNDATION TEAM UP FOR NEW BI-MONTHLY CONCERT SERIES

ROC-A-FELLA RECORDS RECORDING ARTISTS: KANYE WEST, YOUNG GUNZ, RELL &
ALLEN ANTHONY TO KICK OFF INAUGURALJAM SESSION

New Concert Series Pushes HIV/AIDS Prevention Awareness

March 2, 2004 -(New York, NY) On March 11th, 2004, at NYC's Show Night Club (135 W. 41st Street) LIFEbeat- The Music Industry Fights AIDS and The E.A.R.S. Foundation will team up to launch and present The LIFEbeat Heart & Voices Concert Series. The bi-monthly concert series, at Show NightClub will feature some of today's hottest recording artists, with the goal of bringing more attention to the message of HIV/AIDS prevention within the urban community.

Kicking off the inaugural jam session will be hip-hop sensation Kanye West, joined by fellow Roc-a-Fella Records recording artists the Young Gunz, Rell and Allen Anthony. Quite simply, "Through The Wire," the stunning first single from Kanye West's chart-topping, critically acclaimed Roc-A-Fella Records debut The College Dropout, marks the emergence of hip-hop's most important new voice. Long known as the sonic visionary behind such hits as Ludacris' #1 smash "Stand Up," Alicia Keys' "You Don't Know My Name," Jay-Z's "Encore," "Lucifer," "Izzo (H.O.V.A.)," "Girls Girls Girls," "The Takeover," and "'03 Bonnie & Clyde," Scarface's "Guess Who's Back," and Talib Kweli's "Get By," amongst many others, Chicago-bred West is undoubtedly one of the most talented and accomplished young producers to have emerged in recent years. Now, the proverbial underdog West, who MTV News hailed as "generating the biggest buzz for any debuting MC since 50 Cent," has, in his own prophetic words from "Through The Wire," turned tragedy to triumph. Kanye has shipped over 1 million and sold over 640,000 copies of The College Dropout over the last two weeks. Spurred on by domination at radio, a flood of critical acclaim, strong support from BET and MTV, and a ground swell in popularity in the street, West' s Dropout is holding firm at #2 on the national album charts and a resounding #1 on the Hip-Hop/R&B album charts for the second week running.

The concert series, a combination of music, education and a great vibe will be squarely aimed at helping to educate and therefore slow the spread of HIV and AIDS in many sectors of New York, especially in the urban community which is still being largely ravaged by the epidemic. The series is geared toward helping to raise funds for LIFEbeat1s Hearts & Voices Program and also providing employment opportunities for urban youth in the music and entertainment industry through the EARS Foundation.

"We are so excited about collaborating with the E.A.R.S. Foundation on this concert series," said John Cannelli, Executive Director of LIFEbeat. "The HIV/AIDS epidemic has reached a critical point and this series is another opportunity to reach "at risk" youth."

By producing this bi-monthly series, LIFEbeat and The E.A.R.S. Foundation recognizes the power of music, and also the important role it plays in the lives of young people. While spreading the powerful message of HIV/AIDS prevention, the concert will raise money to deliver the healing magic of music to people already living with the devastating disease and also help raise a new generation of music and entertainment executives brimming with talent and compassion.

AIDS remains the second leading cause of death among Americans between the ages of 25 and 44, with 50 percent of all new HIV infections among people under 25.
